Oh My!!! What a Day!!!

HGTV was with us this week on Wednesday & boy oh buy what a day!!!  Fabulous, but completely exhausting! (I cannot show any of the HGTV people or stuff like that for confidentiality reasons, but here's some of what was going on all day......LOTS!)

3 Electricians on hand to get our 52 (!!!) light fixtures hung in time for the party the same night....

& Our PINK toilet finally sees the light of day!!!

& the raising of our MEGA HEAVY 10' Tiki.

This tiki originally stood in the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago outside of the Trader Vic's restaurant.

Cats & Tikis & Cats & Lights & Cats, Oh My!

& A cabinet we ordered for our stereo system back in August finally arrived.

This weekend we also did some rearranging of stuff in the Garage to unearth our larger tikis to get ready to install them in the bar:

& This BIG one will be installed by our contractors tomorrow (weighs a TON!!!!)

While we installed the more manageable ones :)

& our 4th barstool FINALLY arrived (ordered 1.5 years ago!!!).  2 more on order, too :)

Floors Stools & Shards.....

First-up, the Whiskey Barrel Floors are DONE!!!

WO LOVE THEM!!!!!!

And, I got news that our 4th carved barstool is finally DONE & ready to ship today.

It was ordered ~a year ago - amazing how fast they move when you tell them HGTV is coming to film the place ;)

I just also ordered a 5th & 6th one from 2 other carvers, now that we see how big the bar top is & that we can fit 6 stools.  Those will likely be 2-3 months before we get them.

But here's the one that will be on its way to us shortly!

And.....last update....the bar bathroom will have a giant clamshell for the sink.

I have a giant clamshell, but getting it properly drilled & prepped to be a sink was going to be a bit much to get done in time, so I decided to order one.

Sadly, this is how it arrived yesterday:

BUT - never fear, our HGTV deadline is helping get a replacement sent our way in time......hopefully it arrives in 1 piece this time!!!!!

Lights, Lights & FLOORS!

This weekend much fun was had getting the rest of the light fixtures ready to hang.

The official count is 52 light fixtures will be going up in the bar.  Holy Crap!!!!!

GIANT red glass float that I wired-up to make into a light.  This one will hang from the highest peak over the porthole door outside!

& a couple fish traps that I made into lights that I added an Amber Shellac coating to make them look "old"

& then there's this guy - the BIGGEST pufferfish I've ever seen.  Sunday's project was to make him into a light.  Usually these things are filled with MILES & MILES of plastic that have to pulled out with tongs & tweezers, an occasional razor blade & otherr garbage.

But - it was my LUCKY DAY!!!  He was completely empty.  I found an hour ++ in my day & a lot of hassle WOOHOO!

& I LOVE this lamp, but have not found a good spot for it in this house & didn't want to sell it.  So, this weekend, looking at it in the garage, I had a great idea to turn it into a pendant fixture & put it in the bar - yay!!
