More Progress......

While the house is still VERY ripped up, LOTS of progress!

One of the A/C units went in today, Plumbing goes in tomorrow, Framing started today for walls that are changing/moving, and much of the electrical changes are also complete!

Guest Bathroom in the works......

Partial view of Living Room, with 1 set of stairs (lower Left) GONE!

And view of the other end of the living room......getting there!
Next, the rest of those windows come out - to be replaced by BIG Sliding doors - there won't be much wall left on that end of the room :)

& the Utility Room in the works:

The Kitchen extension is also in place - YAY!

LOTS of trucks lined-up from the workers...all hands on deck this week!!

The Deck (Which is being replaced) has become by spray paint backdrop - a treat to not have to worry about where the spray paint goes!

AND THERE GO MORE PIECES & PARTS OF OUR HOUSE......Off to the Dump!!

We're not Afraid of a Little......or A LOT of Color!!!

We do love nice, bright, happy colors, so, I guess no surprise that this house - like our last house - will reflect that :)

The Living Room & Main Hallways will all be a pretty shade of Yellow

Then, the Doors throughout the house (including the front door!) will be this awesome Aqua shade called Beach Glass.  And as many interior doors as feasible are being turned into pocket doors as well!

My Office will be a nice lighter shade of Aqua - Tahitian Breeze

Rob's Ofice will be a couple shades of Orange - Orange Burst & Fresh Apricot

& The Guest Bedroom in Fountain Mist.  This color will also be used on the cabinets in the Master Bathroom.

& I'm very happy to have PINK in the laundry room.  It was going to be pink & white stripe, but the damn textured walls in Texas make that not feasible......but I did find Pink & White wide stripe curtains for this room, so that'll work instead :)

Old Fashioned Pink on the Walls......

& Candy Coated on the Pocket Door to the Room!

Accent Color to be used in the Guest Bath.....

& The color for the Master bath walls that aren't tiled......

& The Master Bedroom - the Darker Key Largo as an Accent color & the Lighter Tame Teal as the main color

& Blushing Bride in the Master Bedroom closet :)

Dining area off of the Kitchen.....Main Color:

& Accent Wall Color......

So......yeah......No WHITE WALLS

More Demo & Fun Tile for the Entryway

More ripping out of stuff....2nd dumpster almost FULL as of end of day Monday!

Tile on it's way OUT!

& The Crappy Cheap Popcorn Ceiling is also about GONE!

Master Bath now just a shell of what it was........

Though the crappy bathtub still needs to head to the dumpster

& the view from the bathroom through to the closet - the closet is going to be stretched out that wall to the roofline to give us more space

& the big accomplishment for today was finding tile for the Entryway.  I was looking for blue slate chunks, but tough to find in the thickness needed for an interior floor with a consistent thickness.  Found this & Loved it, so ordered!

It fits well for the era we're going for & also will have diamond window coverings for the windows beside the door, so this works great.

OOOPS!!!!  Well, just got a call - apparently the one above is Sold Out & more is not arriving until June :(  So.....we'll go with our second choice, which is still pretty good - Black Slate in the same pattern :)

Next up.......Countertops!

We've had fun picking out countertops!  Here goes!!

The Kitchen will have White Quartz

And a little accent of orange formica on some shelves on the island....  This same laminate will be used on Caroline's built-in desktop

FUN Retro Boomerang Laminate in the Laundry room & around the utility sink in the garage

& The 2 Bathrooms.....our favorite - Recycled Glass with Blue inlaid glass!

& The Bar will have this Bamboo laminate in the bathroom & the main bar (the part of the bar where drinks are made....not the bartop - We have a very cool project for the Bar top.  Stay Tuned!)

The first couple days of demo!

Because hideous green stripes were so much better than hideous brown stripes in the guest bathroom....

& Fancy FLOCKED brown & gold wallpaper originally adorned the Master Bath....yes, it's still fuzzy.

Flocked in the Bathroom....WTF???

& the world's longest double sink is OUT!

Buh Bye 1975 water heater

Formerly a kitchen......

Hammers Start Swinging tomorrow!

& We're SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

An the interim, we've picked out tile for the whole house, so here are some pretty pictures for you to ogle :)

First-up....Utility Room....

& then Kitchen backsplash behind the hood  - will be like this, but with White instead of grey & also some dark aqua mixed in.  Some of the tiles will be bubbled & others will be flat.

The Remainder of the Kitchen Backsplash will be a mix of these Matte Flat & Inverted Subway tiles...

Then - the Kitchen Floor, though this is not a great picture of it - it is a white tile with thin strands of Gray & Blue running through it.  This will also be on the floor of the Guest Bathroom.

The Main Tile in the Master Bath - Shower, Floors, Walls, etc.

Accent tile for the Master Bath

& Main Tile for the Guest bath, which will cover the walls & shower

Accent tile for the Guest Bath.....

Then we have the Floors of the showers in both bathrooms......it's going to feel SO GOOD on your feet!

& finally the floor tile for the Bar Bathroom....

Getting Impatient :)

We started removing bits & pieces....ripping up some carpet, getting rid of the old ugly fireplace insert. Waiting....waiting.....

PERMITS & The Waiting Game.....

All we're waiting for now is PERMITS!!
Which, with all of the boom that Austin has had, is quite the adventure, as it's wait, wait, wait until your papers get to the top of the pile.

UGH!

As soon as that comes through, we can get started - YIPPEE!!!
